What can I expect on my first visit with Dr. Bobb?
The first time you see Dr. Bobb, x-rays will be taken at the office. You are welcome to bring x-rays or films on CD, however additional x-rays may need to be taken at your visit. Our medical assistant will bring you into an exam room and obtain a complete history prior to seeing the doctor. Your attention to accuracy and details when completing your patient information form will improve our ability to care for you. Dr. Bobb will then complete your evaluation and discuss his findings with you. If additional testing or surgery is recommended, scheduling those procedures will be discussed with you.
Where does Dr. Bobb perform his surgeries?
Dr. Bobb operates at Warner Road Surgery Center in Chandler, Banner SurgiCenter of America in central Phoenix and Desert Ridge Surgery Center in north Phoenix. He is also on staff at Banner Desert Medical Center and West Valley Hospital.
What arrangements will take place when additional testing is required?
When it is determined additional testing is required to formulate a treatment plan, a member of our staff will begin the necessary paperwork. Our medical assistant will determine where the testing needs to be performed and will work with the facility to schedule your appointment. Please remember it is often out of control as to appointment availability, but efforts will be made to expedite your care. The results of these tests will be sent to our office. The doctor will want to see you back in our office once these results have been received to go over the results in detail.
What arrangements will take place if surgery is required?
When it is determined that your condition will require surgery, a consent form will be reviewed with you and an information packet will be provided, and any questions answered. The surgical information will be given to our clinical coordinator who will contact you to coordinate a surgery date and location for you. Your insurance carrier will be contacted to verify your benefits and obtain authorization if needed.
What can I expect post-operatively (after surgery)?
You will be given home instructions on the day of surgery including a prescription for pain control if needed. You will need to schedule a return appointment in our office to see Dr. Bobb’s Physician Assistant about a week after your surgery. At the appointment the P.A. will check your wound and change your dressing. Any new bandages, splints or casts will be provided and an x-ray may be taken if needed. The doctor will also be available to answer any questions you may have.
Will I require therapy after surgery?
The need for therapy is quite variable in all patients. Dr. Bobb will be able to determine the need for therapy depending upon the type of surgery and your recovery process. If therapy is ordered, your participation is expected and will play a crucial role in your recovery process.
After Hours
In case of an emergency, your provider is available for advice or emergency care. Our after hour message will direct you to the appropriate number to call. Routine matters should be addressed during regular working hours.
To whom do I speak with questions regarding my condition, medication refills or medical forms?
If you have any questions regarding your condition, care or treatment, please do not hesitate to contact our office at 602-298-1188 and ask for the Physician Assistant at extension 136. You call will be returned as soon as possible. If you have a life threatening emergency dial 9-1-1.
Medication refills are taken by the office during regular business hours. Routine prescription refills are not processed after hours or on weekends. Please have your prescription and pharmacy information available when calling our office at 602-298-1188 you can ask to speak our medical assistant or transfer to extension 132 for both refills and status of medical form completion.
